Security System FAQ’s

WHEN MY ALARM IS ACTIVATED, WHAT HAPPENS?

Depending on how you have your alarm connected, the activation process can differ. Unmonitored systems will ring outside for 15 minutes and the lights will continue to flash if there is no attendance with the valid code. A monitored system will contact the key holders and also the police should the alarm be activated.

DO THE POLICE CHARGE ME FOR FALSE ALARM CALLS?

No, the police do not charge for false alarm calls. But they will alter their policy if there are frequent mistakes at your property. They are less likely to attend on the next alarm whether it be false or true so minimise false alarms immediately.

POWER CUTS ARE COMMON IN MY AREA, WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO MY ALARM SYSTEM?

The battery in all alarm systems will support the alarm for at least 8 hours after power has been cut. It will not activate but it will log the time when power was cut and when it came back on again.

WHO SHOULD I HAVE AS KEY HOLDERS?

Ultimately this is your choice but we suggest people you trust, those who can be on hand regularly and those who know the property and alarm system well. They could also benefit from being close by with their own transport in case of an emergency.

I HAVE PETS, WILL THEY ACTIVATE THE ALARM?

Without pet-friendly sensors, your pets will alert the alarm system. Get in touch for more information about these sensors as we are able to add them to your home with ease.

I ALREADY HAVE AN ALARM SYSTEM, CAN I ADD MORE TO IT?

We always provide upgrades and additional items to our customers who are looking for a better alarm system. It is never too early to upgrade your system as we design systems with additional features all the time.
